The Speaker of the House still refuses to attach the defunding amendment to the budget. He is giving up all the leverage.

As a lame duck, Boehner has never been more dangerous.

John Boehner announced he is resigning. But before leaving, he plans to completely fund Planned Parenthood.

Sure, he is going to pretend to fight. He is going to use reconciliation to force a bill through the Senate to defund Planned Parenthood. But he still refuses to attach it to the budget.

Without the threat of a shutdown, there is absolutely no leverage to force Barack Obama to sign the bill.

He literally always does this. Boehner and McConnell do just enough to pretend to fight but the plans are rigged from the beginning to fail.

When Barack Obama was re-elected and subsequently lost control of the Senate, I warned you that he would never be more dangerous. Obama had nothing to lose, so what did he do? He implemented amnesty for illegal aliens by executive order and rewrote our immigration laws in the process.

The same applies for Boehner. We have a real opportunity to defund this butcher shop once and for all and give the $500 million dollars in the budget to other health centers that actually help women.

Listen, if the Speaker of the House puts forward a defunding plan that he knows is doomed to fail, then that is no different than funding Planned Parenthood.

The American people aren't stupid. For far too long, Congress has gotten away with saying, "oh well, we tried."

Trying is not good enough. Boehner's resignation announcement should prove that no one is safe from the American people. If you do your job and defund this horrible organization, you will have our complete support. But if you choose to fund it, or back a strategy that is deliberately designed to fail, then you might as well start drafting your own resignation speech.
