This week, Nancy Pelosi declared that just because Democrats are trying to remove Trump from office, that shouldn't mean that Congress stops working on compromise pieces of legislation. At the top of her to-do list is passing new gun control laws.

This week, the Democrat Presidential Candidates met for a gun control forum in Las Vegas and unveiled their new, radical gun confiscation proposals. Each of them tried to one-up the other by promising to ban and confiscate the most firearms. They discussed their plans to confiscate tens of millions of Americans' guns.

But they all admit that there is a fundamental flaw in their plans: they don't know who owns which guns. Without such a database, Democrats can never completely confiscate Americans' firearms.

That is why they are all talking about mandatory buy-backs. Since they don't have a registry of American gun owners, they need to compel us to turn in our firearms to them.

Republicans, however, are offering to meet these gun grabbers halfway. Instead of approving their gun ban and confiscation bills, the GOP is offering to finally pass a universal background check bill. The problem is that this proposal ultimately gives the government everything it needs to create a gun owner registry.

The proposal would require that private sales and transfers go through the FBI's National Instant Background Check System. Right there, the government would learn who purchased the firearm. But the "compromise" proposal would also require private sellers to produce and maintain a Bill of Sale that would include details on the buyer and seller's identity, as well as the serial number of the gun that was transferred.

The GOP's proposal would require sellers to maintain these documents for at least 20 years and make them available to ATF agents on demand.

Combined with the records that the government already collects from gun store purchases and this would give the Federal government the power to create a database of every firearm that changes hands in America, as well as who bought and sold it. This bill is nothing but a push to create a gun registry.

If you vote for this unconstitutional bill, you are voting for confiscation. That is undeniable. World history teaches us that gun confiscations always follow mandatory registration. Always.

If you give the government the power to create this registry, it is only a matter of time before it is used to disarm the American people.

This is not a compromise, this is a surrender. If you vote for this, or any other "compromise" gun control bill, I will not rest until you are removed from office. That is a promise...
