The 9th Circuit Court just announced that it would rehear Peruta v. San Diego County, meaning that the Court's majority of liberal judges are about to take away Californians' and Hawaiian's 2nd Amendment rights once again.

The Second Amendment reads that the "right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

In its landmark case -- Heller v. District of Columbia -- the Supreme Court defined the right to "bear arms" as a right to carry firearms.

However, more than 26% of the American population lives in states that prohibit citizens from exercising their right to bear arms. States like California, Maryland, and New Jersey, make the requirements to get a carry permit so difficult to obtain that it is impossible for average citizens to qualify.

These states force citizens to prove a "justifiable need" or "good cause" for them to carry a gun in public. The last time I checked, it was called the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs...

It would be unconscionable to require citizens to prove a "justifiable need" before being allowed to freely practice their religion.

If soldiers knock on your door, you don't have to provide a "good cause" for why they can't quarter themselves in your house.

No one is asked to prove a "special need" before being allowed to vote or receiving a trial before a jury of his or her peers.

Yet for some reason, a minority of states has been allowed to over regulate this Constitutional right to the point of a de facto ban on bearing arms.

No one is asking that you allow just anyone to carry a weapon. Violent felons and the mentally ill should remaind barred from carrying or owning guns.

But for the 11+ million licensed and trained concealed carry permit holders in this country, and the millions of others who yearn to have their 2nd Amendment rights upheld, you and your colleagues MUST pass the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act without delay!
