But if the bill was passed in its current form, Congress would be powerless to stop the Iran deal. That is by design. The RINOs want to be able to claim they did everything they could but when push comes to shove, they have no intention of taking a stand.

That's why the amendment process is so important! The Democrats are terrified that real Conservative amendments will be added to the bill. So, they are pressuring the RINOs to end debate and vote on the legislation as-is.

Right now, Harry Reid is pressuring Senate Republicans to file cloture and end debate on the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act. They want to vote on the bill as-is.

This legislation was supposed to restore Congress' treaty powers with regards to the Iran nuclear deal. However, the bill was watered down in committee and is now a shell of its former self.

Instead of requiring a 2/3 vote in the Senate to ratify the agreement, the bill has been changed to give just 34 Democrats the power to push the agreement through.

It's despicable and the Founders would be ashamed if they were alive to see this.

Since the bill left committee, Conservatives have been working around the clock to get their amendments added to the legislation. These amendments would classify the Iran deal as a treaty, force the Iranians to stop funding terror groups, and mandate that the Islamic Republic of Iran recognize the State of Israel.

These are just a few of the many amendments that the Democrats don't want to vote on. If they agree to them, they'll be skewered by the rest of their party. And if they vote against the amendments, they'll have a hard time explaining it to their constituents. So, instead of having to swallow this poison pill, they're trying to sabotage the legislation.

Democrats are terrified that they will be forced to vote on these amendments and they're even more terrified that the votes will pass.

So now, they are pushing for Mitch McConnell to file cloture and hold a final vote on the legislation as-is. This CANNOT be allowed to happen.

You must force a vote on these common-sense amendments! Anything short of that would be a complete surrender!
