Obama didn't just send anyone to the UN Arms Treaty's Conference. He sent an Assistant Secretary of State. And now that bureaucrat has made it his mission to implement the UN's gun control agenda by any means necessary!

Obama knows he is running out of time. Congress refuses to pass his gun control agenda so he is implementing it through this unconstitutional treaty.

Obama administration officials attended the UN Arms Trade Treaty Conference in Cancun, Mexico last month.

At first, it seemed like it would be a formality and ceremonial. However, that isn't the case. The President sent an Assistant Secretary of State to the conference to pledge the United States' full support.

I don't remember Congress ratifying the treaty, do you? That's because Congress didn't ratify anything. In fact, Congress overwhelmingly voted against the treaty. But just like the rest of Obama's foreign policy, he is ignoring the Constitution and implementing it alone.

The UN Arms Treaty is toxic. Article 2 states that the right to own, buy, sell, trade, or transfer weapons of any kind will be denied to average citizens. Article 3 bans ammunition that can be fired from these weapons. Article 4 bans gun parts, making it that much harder for Americans to build their own firearms. Article 12 requires that countries keep a registry of all firearm owners for at least 10 years and hand the list over to the United Nations. Even though this is completely illegal and unconstitutional here in the United States, Obama is subscribing to the requirement anyway.

This cannot be allowed to go through. Literally, what the President is doing is unconstitutional on every level.

Right now, you and your colleagues are crafting next year's budget. You MUST defund this horrible treaty. If Obama doesn't care about Congress' treaty powers, he'll care about Congress' power of the purse.

Defund it all. Make it illegal for the State Department, or any agency, to fund work towards implementing this program. Make it illegal to attend any more conferences... make it illegal to even pick up the phone and communicate with other gun grabbers.

You have an opportunity to stop this once and for all. If you don't take this opportunity and push for defunding Obama's gun control agenda, then I will have no choice but to assume you support it. In case you haven't heard, anti-gun legislators rarely win re-election...
