This week, the Obama administration used obscure import/export regulations (ITAR) to reclassify local, American gunsmiths into the same regulatory category as international arms merchants.

The neighbor who runs a gunsmith shop part-time in his garage will now face the same regulatory burden as arms manufacturers who fulfill multi-million dollar international arms contracts.

For most gunsmiths, this is devastating. They run their side business out of their house and only work part time. They are just trying to provide a service to the community and use their hobby to make a few extra bucks on the side.

Many of them don't have the money to pay these new fees.

So, they will go out of business. All because the Obama administration wants to regulate them into extinction.
