When the clock strikes midnight, the Obama administration will officially begin its 2017 refugee program.

Last year, they brought in over 12,500 unvetted refugees. Next year, they are poised to double that.

Unless Congress puts a stop to this right now, there will be nothing to prevent Obama from opening up the floodgates on his refugee program.

Today is the last day of the Federal government's 2016 Fiscal Year.

Over the past year, Barack Obama has brought 12,571 Syrian refugees into the country. Less than 1% of these refugees are Christians.

Tomorrow, the program will restart for the 2017 Fiscal Year and all that we know is that the number of refugees will be much larger.

This week, Simon Henshaw, an Assistant Secretary in the State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migrants, testified before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee. He was asked how many Syrian refugees were expected to enter the country over the next year and he said he had no idea, only that it would be more than the year prior.

But he provided another stunning revelation: these refugees are not being screened for radical Islamic views.

When a refugee applies to enter the United States, they have to swear under oath that they are not a Nazi. No, not a neonazi... They have to actually swear that they were not a German soldier during World War II.

But when it comes to radical views, the Obama administration isn't screening for it.

For example, Mr. Henshaw admitted that refugees are not asked whether they support radical practices like honor killings.

The only thing the Obama administration is interested in is 'vulnerabilities.' But the result is that the American people are left more vulnerable.

Over the past two weeks, two terror attacks have been perpetrated by people who entered the United States as a result of our refugee and asylum programs. The Minnesota jihadist who stabbed 8 people in a shopping mall is a Somali refugee. The New Jersey/New York bomber came to the United States from Afghanistan after his father's asylum application was approved.

Getting these programs wrong has real consequences.

Late last year, the American SAFE Act passed the House of Representatives with a bipartisan, veto-proof majority. The only reason it was never sent to Obama's desk is because Harry Reid filibustered it.

You and I both know that you have the power to pass this bill right now through the reconciliation process. But you choose not to.

I am writing to you to make sure you understand that inaction is just as despicable as the wrong action. Passively allowing Obama's unvetted refugees to enter the country is no different than actively voting in favor of it.

The 2017 FY refugee program begins tomorrow. I am demanding that you pass the American SAFE Act and stop all refugee admittance until the Obama administration certifies that the applicants have passed a thorough background check!

This is one of the issues that I will be voting on in November.
