GOP Congress Confirms: DC Swamp Won't Be Drained

The GOP held a voice vote yesterday and it was "unanimous." McConnell and Ryan will be re-nominated into leadership positions.

The same day, Mitch McConnell reiterated his pledge to stop all votes on term limits and Paul Ryan had to scramble to cancel a vote before the GOP caucus voted to re-allow earmarks for political donors.

The GOP leadership in Congress refuses to drain the swamp. So, we need the pull the drain and flush them down as well.

Yesterday, your colleagues held a voice vote and "unanimously" agreed to keep Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan as GOP leaders. I know better. Voice votes are used to help legislators hide behind unpopular votes.

The fact of the matter is that neither Ryan nor McConnell have the full support of their caucus because, frankly, Members of Congress aren't stupid.

Donald Trump just won the Presidency by flipping the entier Midwest Rust Belt. He won states that haven't gone to Republicans since the 1980s. One of his key messages was a campaign promise to "Drain the Swamp" and purge Washington DC of corruption.

Donald Trump has called for term limits. A bipartisan super majority of Americans support implementing term limits. Mitch McConnell came out yesterday and said that term limits would not be put up for a vote and if people think politicians have been in office too long, they can vote them out...

Another tenet of "Drain the Swamp" is to eliminate the kickbacks that donors and lobbyists receive in return for supporting candidates. Yesterday, Paul Ryan had to rush to cancel a vote before the GOP caucus voted to re-allow earmarks and pork spending.

The American people have spoken and you don't seem to be listening.

If you won't Drain the Swamp, then We the People will take McConnell's advice and vote you out of office. If you allow for corruption to continue to reach the highest levels of GOP leadership, I will have no choice but to vote for your next opponent.

You must remove all members of the leadership team who refuse to implement term limits and who refuse to Drain the Swamp.
