However, in the past 8 years, Barack Obama has added 635,448 pages of regulations to the Federal register. President Trump will be able to undo many of them, but Congress simply doesn't have enough hours in the day to undo each of these regulations individually.

This is especially true since the Obama admin is rushing to finalize as many regulations as possible in the next 60 days.

Barack Obama and the Democrats had complete control of Congress for just the first two years of his Presidency. For the remaining six years in office, every single one of Obama's "accomplishments" have been enacted by executive action.

Some are weakly enacted, meaning that Donald Trump can reverse them with just a single signature. Others, however, are more entrenched.

For example, the President just enacted a 5-year ban on Arctic and Atlantic Ocean oil drilling. With just two months left in office, the President thinks he has the right to decide policy for the next five years.

To undo this through proper channels will take months. Even you and your colleagues admit this.

Under the Congressional Review Act, Congress has the authority to undo Presidential executive actions. But in the past eight years, Obama has added 635,448 pages of regulations to the Federal Register.

You don't have time to undo these one by one, especially with the White House's franctic push to finalize as many regulations as possible in the two months left before Trump takes office.

In 2016, the Obama administration has added over 81,000 pages of regulations to the books. If you pass the Midnight Rule Relief Act, then Congress would have the power to immediately undo every regulation finalized since May 2016 (which is most of them).
