Last year, news broke that Congressman Mark Meadows was being stripped of his subcommittee chairmanship for going against the GOP leadership.

This decision reaffirmed Conservatives' fears: That Paul Ryan would use the same strongarm tactics as Boehner to compel Conservative lawmakers into sacrificing their principles.

A deal was struck and GOP leaders promised to never again use committee assignments as weapons against their own caucus.

Well, Paul Ryan has just announced that he is delaying assigning Congressmen to committees until after the Speaker election. The message is clear: If you want to retain your legislative power, you had better vote to re-elect Paul Ryan and other RINOs in leadership positions.

Paul Ryan just doesn't get it. Instead of making these assignments and giving committees an additional 45 days to prepare to hit the ground running in January, Paul Ryan is selfishly working to preserve his own power.

That is what it comes down to. Ryan can either do what is best for the Conservative movement by empowering committees to prepare to make progress on Day One or he can do what is best for his personal agenda. He has chosen the latter.

GOP leadership swore never to use committee assignments to compel votes. Now, they are going back on this promise and threatening to purge Conservatives from legislative positions.

We have, at a minimum, two years to enact the Conservative agenda that swept Trump and the Republican Party into power. That will never be possible with Paul Ryan and other selfish RINOs at the helm.

I am writing to you to ask you to take brave action and oppose Paul Ryan's re-election as Speaker of the House and the re-election of any other self-interested RINO.

GOP leadership needs a shot across the bow to remind them of who they serve. They serve the American people, not their own selfish interests!
