Republicans in both the House and Senate promised to shutdown Obama's refugee program in 2015.

Now that Trump has done just that, they've tucked their tails between their legs and ran away. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan are terrified of actually having to do what they promised to do.

On top of that, some in the GOP are actually working with Democrats to formally have Obama's refugee policies reinstated.

They've forgotten who they serve. They've forgotten that YOU hold the power, not them!

In 2015, you and your colleagues pushed legislation that would have halted Barack Obama's refugee program in its tracks. The legislation received a veto-proof majority in the House, but was filibustered by Senator Harry Reid.

One year later, you and your colleagues passed the Terrorist Travel Prevention Act and listed 7 countries as "Countries of Concern" that justify stricter vetting for visa applicants.

Today, Donald Trump is fulfilling that promise you made to the American. He signed an executive order suspending immigration from these seven countries until stricter vetting procedures are put in place.

Trump is doing exactly what you promised to do. Even Senator Chuck Schumer said in 2015 that a refugee "pause may be necessary."

The American people are tired of this political grandstanding. They are tired of you playing games with national security to win political points.

The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 gives the President the authority to turn away any class of aliens he determines would be detrimental to the United States' interests. Your predecessors passed this bill with super-majorities in both the House and Senate and overrode Truman's veto to ensure that future Presidents had the authority to regulate immigration.

A handful of liberal activist judges cannot be allowed to overturn a half century of precedent.

If you think you can make all of these promises and then sit back and allow the President's executive order to be blocked, you are sorely mistaken.

I want to support you, but I cannot support anyone who supports less vetting for refugees and immigrants coming from terror hotbeds.

You swore an oath to protect the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic. If you won't support Trump's efforts to protect us fro the former, I will have no choice but to consider you the latter.
