Donald Trump has already signed an executive order to begin construction of a border wall along the southern border. He has also signed a directive ending Barack Obama's policy of catching and releasing illegal aliens.

We learned today that there are some Border Patrol sectors who are defying the President and continuing to release illegal border crossers.

Meanwhile, many of your colleagues are backtracking on the border security plan and suggesting that increasing patrols would be better than building a wall.

If there are Border Patrol agents who are refusing to enforce our immigration laws, putting them on more regular patrols won't solve anything. We need a wall.

The White House contends that Mexico will pay for the wall, one way or another, but in order for construction to begin, you and your colleagues need to fund it.

I am writing to you to make sure you understand that voting against border security is tantamount to political suicide. I don't care whether you have an R or D next to your name. Securing our border is not a partisan issue. It is a national security issue.

Any Member of Congress who votes against this funding will be removed from office. Period.

We have gone years waiting for you and your colleagues to make good on your campaign promises. Now we have a President who is intent on making good on them in his first month in office

The age of inaction is over.

If you do not back this common-sense border security proposal, one that was already legalized in 2006, I will have no choice but to dedicate my efforts to your electoral defeat.
