[Sen./Rep.] [FIRST NAME] [LAST NAME]
Dear [Sen./Rep.] [LAST NAME]:
The United Nations has issued a threat to the Trump administration.
If the President doesn't stop deporting illegal aliens or blocking Middle Eastern refugees from entering the United States, then the UN will seek legal action.
You heard that correctly.
Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein, the current UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Jordanian Prince, declared that President Trump’s policies are “in breach of international law, if undertaken without due process guarantees, including individual assessment.”
He has threatened to take the United States to court in order to keep the refugees and illegal aliens flowing into the country.
All of this is being done with my tax dollars. The United States gives away $3+ billion to the United Nations every year. What do we get for it? Well, let's just look at the last year...
Obama and the UN bypassed Congress to add language to a nuclear test ban treaty, Obama gave away $1 billion to help the UN finance a Climate Change treaty that Congress never ratified, John Kerry signed a UN gun control treaty without the consent of Congress, the United Nations sanctioned the State of Israel after Obama refused to itervene in his final days in office, and the UN helped the Obama administration reclassify Central American migrants as "refugees" to increase the flow into the country.
Now this, a threat to sue the US for securing our borders.
Ted Cruz's bill to withhold funding from the United Nations has wide bipartisan support in Congress.
You and your colleagues promised to pull funding from the United Nations. The President has indicated he would sign such a bill.
The UN cannot be allowed to use American tax dollars to target the United States and undermine President Trump's policies.
You are currently working on a number of spending bills. You must attach a UN defunding measure to one of these must-pass bills!
