Remember Operation Fast and Furious, the Obama-era ATF program that allowed Mexican druge cartels to purchase thousands of guns from American gun dealers and then sneak them across the border?

Well, after Eric Holder and the ATF allowed these cartels to illegally purchase the guns, the Obama administration used that as an excuse to impose an illegal gun registry onto the American people. Anyone who purchases more than two firearms at once, or a couple of days apart, is now recorded by the ATF. American gun purchasers are presumed to be criminals simply because of how many firearms they purchase.

Over the years, I have written to you many times, urging action against unconstitutional regulations and executive orders against the 2nd Amendment. Since President Trump took office, you and your colleagues have rolled back a number of Obama-era anti gun programs.

This unconstitutional and illegal gun registry is one of the last remaining.

It is completely illegal. Federal law explicitly prohibits the creation or maintenance of a federal gun owner registry. Your predecessors enacted this prohibition in order to make sure future administrations did not have the tools to implement gun confiscation programs.

After the Obama administration's own incompetence led to thousands of firearms falling into the hands of drug cartels and criminal syndicates, istead of admitting the mistake, they used the scandal as an excuse to go after law-abiding American gun owners.

You campaigned on a promise to uphold and defend US law and the Constitution. In order to do that, you must support Rep. Evan Jenkins' bill: H.R. 1976, the Protecting the 2nd Amendment Act. This legislation would roll back the ATF's controversial Demand Letter 3 policy and prevent the Federal government from keeping a registry of American gun owners.

There is no middle ground here. You cannot support the Constitution and simultaneously support a regulation that infringes upon it.

Pass the Protecting the 2nd Amendment Act or I will find someone to replace you who will!
