The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act now has 213 sponsors/co-sponsors. That means it is just five votes away from passage in the House.

Every year, countless Americans are victimized living in or traveling through states that arbitrarily prohibit them from carrying firearms for self-defense, as the 2nd Amendment protects. Many people choose to carry a firearm anyway because they refuse to disarm and wind up arrested and thrown behind bars. Others just have a gun in their car console out of habit and completely forget it's there, only to face felony charges when they're pulled over in an anti-gun state like Maryland or New Jersey.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act fixes all of this. If you have a concealed carry permit from a state, you would be allowed to carry in every state. If you live in a Constitutional Carry state like Vermont or Arizona, where residents are entitled to carry a concealed weapon without a permit, you would be able to carry your gun nationwide as well.

Most importantly, if you live in an anti-gun state, you would be able to get a non-resident carry permit from Utah or Florida and use that permit to carry nationwide... including in your home state.

This is the biggest gun rights bill ever to be introduced into Congress. It would restore the 2nd Amendment's right to bear arms to the 26.15% of Americans who are having that right infringed upon and would ensure that all law-abiding Americans have the right to carry nationwide.

Yet, it has not received a vote because, in the words of one Congressman, Paul Ryan "doesn't think the timing is right."

I am writing to you today to make sure you understand that the timing has never been better!

I am demanding that you introduce a discharge petition/resolution and force a vote on this legislation in both the House and the Senate. One or two men should not be allowed to stall this life-saving legislation.

It is not enough to simply sign on as a co-sponsor. You need to do everything in your power to ensure a vote is held and this bill is passed into law. That includes signing onto a discharge petition and bypassing these establishment GOP roadblocks.

I need you to understand that a right delayed is a right denied. If you stand by and allow the GOP leadership to stall and block this bill, that is no different than voting against it and I will have no choice but to vote accordingly.
