Yesterday, you and your colleagues passed the fourth budget or continuing resolution since President Trump was elected. For the fourth time, you passed a spending bill that does NOT allow for the President to begin erecting a wall along the southern border.

You had a chance right after the election to pass a spending bill to allocate funding for the wall so that Pres. Trump could hit the ground running after the inauguration. Congressional leadership refused.

Then, in April, the President submitted another request for border wall funding. Again, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell said 'no.' But this time, they promised that the border wall would be funded this autumn.

Well, September arrived and when Congress introduced a continuing resolution to keep the government funded through the end of the year, the leadership again deliberately took out the border wall funding. They demanded that the bill be a "clean budget," meaning that it continues to fund what Obama wanted.

And then, we arrived at yesterday evening. Presented with yet another opportunity to build the wall, Congressional leadership eadership again said, 'no.'

Did you think I wouldn't notice this? Did you think that We the People would just sit back and let this happen?

President Trump was asked whether he would insist on the border wall be funded in the next round of appropriations bills. He said he would. As you know, he has promised to shut down the government if you and your colleagues don't pass legislation to secure the border.

The passage of the budget opens up the possibility of passing legislation through the reconciliation process. That would allow legistation to pass with a simple majority and block opponents from filibustering it.

I am demanding that you take this opportunity. You MUST pass a border funding bill that authorizes the construction of a border wall.

Already, there are opponents hard at work trying to strip this language from the next round of appropriations bill. You need to put a stop to this and make sure that the border wall funding reaches the President's desk for signature.

Anything less is unacceptable.
