This is not justice.

In the past, I have contacted your office to call attention to instances where military justice failed a serviceman or woman. Most of those correspondences were over malicious prosecutions of innocent soldiers. However in this case, I strongly feel that the Bergdahl sentence is an absolute travesty.

Congress can pressure the Pentagon. You and your colleagues pressured the Pentagon into dropping the case against Sgt. Charles Martland, who was involuntarily discharged for shoving a confessed child rapist to the ground in Afghanistan. Your pressure has worked to change the Military's course before.

I am calling on you to get involved with this case as well. Desertion and seeking out the enemy during a time of war is a serious crime and his criminal actions led to some of his comrades getting killed.

You need to do everything you can, not just to ensure that Bergdahl faces justice, but also to make sure that all of the servicemen who were unjustly prosecuted by the Obama administration receive their fair hearings.

These men answered the call to serve and protect us. Now it is time for you to protect them!
