Democrats and even some liberal Republicans are threatening a government shut down unless Trump drops the border wall and starts giving amnesty to all of the illegal aliens that Obama promised could stay.

Each time a budget has come up for a vote, the GOP promises that they will authorize the border wall in the next budget. Now, they're done pretending anymore. The Establishment is demanding amnesty.

A little less than a month ago, you and your colleagues passed the fourth spending bill since the 2016 election. Again, there was no funding for the border wall. You had a chance right after the election to pass a spending bill to allocate funding for the wall so that Pres. Trump could hit the ground running after the inauguration. Congressional leadership refused.

Then, in April, the President submitted another request for border wall funding. Again, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell said 'no.' But this time, they promised that the border wall would be funded this autumn. September arrived and when Congress introduced a continuing resolution to keep the government funded through the end of the year, the leadership again deliberately took out the border wall funding. They demanded that the bill be a "clean budget," meaning that it continues to fund what Obama wanted. In October, when presented with yet another opportunity to build the wall, Congressional leadership again said, 'no.'

Did you think I wouldn't notice this? Did you think that We the People would just sit back and let this happen?

More importantly, did you think that President Trump would let you keep doing this?

Congressional Democrats, and even some Republicans, are now publicly floating the possibility of a government shut down if Congress funds the wall and doesn't give amnesty to all the illegal aliens Obama promised could stay.

President Trump was asked whether he would insist on the border wall be funded in the next round of appropriations bills. He said he would veto any immigration spending bill that did not include all of his demands -- including a border wall.

With the passage of the budget, you can now pass legislation through the reconciliation process. That would allow legistation to pass with a simple majority and block opponents from filibustering it. The only way that a government shutdown happens is if you defy the President and his voters or if some Republicans team up with Democrats.

I need you to understand that if you do this, you're out. I am demanding that you take this opportunity and pass a border funding bill that authorizes the construction of a border wall.

Already, there are opponents hard at work trying to strip this language from the next round of appropriations bill. You need to put a stop to this and make sure that the border wall funding reaches the President's desk for signature.

Anything less is unacceptable.
