Today, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act will finally get its committee hearing. Paul Ryan blocked this bill for a year, but could block it no longer.

This legislation would overhaul the country's patchwork concealed carry reciprocity system and ensure that if someone is licensed or permitted to bear arms in one state, they are allowed to carry in all 50 states.

The 2nd Amendment's right to bear arms isn't just limited to someone's home state. It applies nationwide, just like the right to pray is protected across the country.

But the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act goes one step further. If someone lives in a state that doesn't believe in the right to bear arms, he or she would be able to get a non-resident concealed carry permit from a state like Utah or Florida and use that to carry nationwide... including in their home state.

This bill would dismantle a century of unconstitutional anti-gun laws. It would restore the right to carry for the tens of millions of Americans who live in states that arbitrarily block people from exercising their rights.

A quarter of all Americans live behind the gun control iron curtain. This bill would rip that curtain down and restore their right to bear arms.

You must pass this legislation as written. This is really important because even now, some of your colleagues are trying to weaken the 2nd amendment protections within this bill. You cannot allow it to be significantly marked up!

If a vote is held on the bill as it stands now, this will pass.
