Breaking: 1st GOPer Caves, Says We Must Lose Some Gun Freedoms

The first Republican has caved. Rep. Francis Rooney has declared he will support gun control efforts and we will have to lose some of our freedoms as a result.

The Democrats just came one vote closer to achieving their gun control dreams.

Do not get complacent. Do not think for one minute that we are safe from the GOP caving on the 2nd Amendment because they already are!

Ronald Reagan used to say that freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. Unfortunately today, it is never more than one vote away from being lost forever.

If you do anything today, please fight for the 2nd Amendment!

The shooting in Parkland, Florida was a tragedy, but one that could easily have been avoided. Many of your colleagues are pointing to new gun control proposals as the answer. The fact is that the FBI was warned multiple times that this shooter was going to attack a school.

They were warned that he was posting on social media that he wanted to become a "professional school shooter" and they were warned just a month before the attack by one of the shooter's friends that he was unstable and would likely try to kill people.

Both times, the FBI did nothing. Local Police had been to the shooter's house dozens of times before the shooting, but never charged him with anything.

The tragedy in Florida was caused by failures in the FBI, not by America's gun laws. And yet, so many members of Congress are demanding that you disarm me and millions of other law abiding Americans.

Absolutely not!

You need to be working to empower law-abiding Americans to defend themselves and their communities, not considering legislation to make us powerless.

That means passing legislation to allow law-abiding, licensed gun owners to carry nationwide. That means rolling back Obama-era regulations designed to make it harder and more expensive for Americans to purchase ammunition to train with.

Both of these proposals are currently stalled in Congress. That is what you need to be focusing on, not the tired Democratic attempts to create nationwide gun owner registries or arbitrarily ban weapons that look scary.

Law abiding gun owners are not the enemy. But if you go along with this plan to implement new gun control laws, I will have no choice but to dedicate myself to removing you from office.
