Democrats and spineless Republicans are begging President Trump not to cut any more United Nations funding. They're even threatening to restore whatever funding Trump cuts.

But US law now requires that a number of UN programs and agencies get defunded. It is against the law to use taxpayer dollars to fund any UN organization that gives Palestine membership. Last week, three more UN agencies offered membership to Palestine.

Trump is preparing the mandatory cuts and the cowards in Congress are threatening to block him.

Back in 1994, Congress passed a law (and Bill Clinton signed it) prohibiting American taxpayers from funding "any affiliated organization of the United Nations which grants full membership as a state to any organization or group that does not have the internationally recognized attributes of statehood."

Palestine is not a state. This law was designed to prevent the United Nations from unilaterally affording statehood to Palestine.

For years, it seemed to be working. However, under the Obama administration, the UN began testing America's resolve. Palestine was granted state membership to the General Assembly and UN agencies like UNESCO, the UN's Green Climate Fund, and the UNFCCC (the organization behind Obama's climate treaty).

Many of your colleagues implored President Obama to cut the funding (as US law requires). He flat-out refused. Instead, he doubled down and promised the Green Climate Fund and UNFCCC $3 billion in taxpayer funds.

When Trump took over, he cut funding to UNESCO, the UN's Green Climate Fund, and the climate treaty. Some of your colleagues worked overtime to try to restore that funding.

Now, the United Nations has gone even further. Last week, they granted Palestine membership in its trade conference (UNCTAD), industrial development organization (UNIDO), and the chemical weapons treaty. They are daring us to defund them.

But that is exactly what you must do. President Trump is limited in what he can accomplish on his own, especially if Members of Congress work to undermine and even reverse his spending cuts.

You need to cut the UN's funding. Right now, Congressional committees and sub-committees are marking up next year's spending bills. I am demanding that you insert yourself into this process and cut off the United Nations' funding for good.

For far too long, this international organization has been allowed to use our own tax dollars against us. No more.

US law requires the funding be cut off and I am writing you to DEMAND it!

It is time for Congress to put America first. Any Congressman or Senator who refuses will be removed from office. That is a promise.
