Robert Mueller's witch hunt took a turn this week. He has practically given up on investigating collusion (because it didn't happen). Instead, he is going after President Trump for firing James Comey.

On top of that, Mueller is also investigating Trump for a conversation he had with Jeff Sessions where he was asked to un-recuse himself. Mueller can't find any real crimes, so he is trying to turn the President's constitutional powers into crimes.

That is how desperate he's become. And now we know that Robert Mueller has spent more than $17 million on this witch hunt.

A new report out of the DOJ shows that Robert Mueller has now spent $17 million in taxpayer funds on his investigation.

Over the last year, he has found zero evidence of collusion. Instead, he has expanded his investigation to investigate things that have nothing to do with Russia.

That includes Trump's decision to fire James Comey. Mueller is taking Constitutional powers granted to the President in Article II -- namely the power to fire cabinet officials -- and trying to turn that into a crime.

What is completely ridiculous is that it was Rod Rosenstein who penned the letter justifying the Comey firing. Now, he is presiding over Mueller and allowing him to investigate the firing. It's a total hit job.

But Mueller isn't stopping there. He is also investigating to see whether Trump broke the law by asking Jeff Sessions to un-recuse himself. Again, the President has the authority to tell cabinet officials how to run their departments and agencies. Mueller is trying to take a perfectly legal and constitutional action and turn it into a crime.

He's grasping at straws. He's spent $17 million of MY money and he has nothing to show for it. An honorable man would close up shop and admit there's nothing to find. Mueller, on the other hand, will go on indefinitely until he finds something -- anything -- to charge the President with.

You need to put a stop to this.

The Congressional leadership has just relented and agreed to cancel most of the August recess to make sure all of the appropriations bills get passed.

In the coming days, a number of different committees will begin marking up these spending bills. I am demanding that you use Congress' power of the purse to put a stop to this out-of-control witch hunt.

Congressman Ron DeSantis has introduced an amendment to prevent any more taxpayer funds from being spent on this sham investigation. It is time to push this forward.

After a year of investigating and $17 million down the drain, Robert Mueller has nothing. It is time to cut our losses. The American people -- and the American taxpayers -- demand it!
