President Trump made his position abundantly clear. He will not sign any immigration bill that does not address his three major pillars.

1. Full border wall funding and appropriations, as well as full funding for Border Patrol and ICE.

3. Severe chain migration cutbacks to stop illegal aliens from bringing their family members into the country.

Then, and only then, can we talk about legalizing the illegal aliens currently in the country.

Many of your colleagues are demanding a vote on a "clean" amnesty bill. Basically, this legislation would do nothing but cement Obama's DACA executive order into law. It would do absolutely nothing to fix the problem of illegal immigration.

If you push this clean amnesty program, not only will the bill fail to become law, but you will be dooming all of the DACA recipients to deportation. The only chance you have is to sign onto the conservative compromise bill.

President Trump's pathway is clear. Secure the border with a wall and more border patrol funding, end the visa lottery, and end chain migration. Only when that is done can there be any legalization.

Democrats have come out and declared they would rather have nothing than something. They are so against giving Trump a 'win' that they are actually going to torpedo the immigration bill unless they get the a bill that mirror's Hillary Clinton's proposal.

That has left Paul Ryan shaking and scrambling to come up with another plan, one that gives away more amnesty, in case that is the only way to win Democrat votes.
