We have found another amnesty amendment that was just snuck into the House's Homeland Security appropriations bill. This amendment is one-sentence long but, if passed, would shield over a million illegal aliens and migrants from deportation.

Anyone who has ever been given amnesty by a previous President would be protected from deportation.

The Left is trying to pull the rug out from under President Trump. Instead of striking a deal to approve the border wall in exchange for amnesty, they think they can just get what they want. And Republicans are now helping them!

Deep within the House Homeland Security appropriations bill there is a new amendment that was just added by an Appropriations Subcommittee.

Authored by Rep. Pete Aguilar, this amendment would prohibit any Federal funds from being used to deport or detain DACA or Temporary Protected Status recipients. If a previous President gave someone amnesty, the Trump administration would be barred from deporting them.

This would be an amnesty giveaway to over a million people. It is shameful that your colleagues thought they could slip this in without the American people noticing.

But beyond just extending Obama's amnesty programs, the amendment would also shield people with TPS. These are foreigners who fled their countries because of natural disasters or wars. The problem is, most have refused to go back. There are 57,000 Hondurans in the United States with TPS because of a hurricane in 1998. They've been living here for two decades, even though their home country has long since rebuilt from the storm. The Trump administration has given them until 2020 -- which would be 22 years after the storm -- to return home. This amendment would let them stay indefinitely.

The American people are crying out for real immigration reform. Not widespread amnesty, but a plan to stop illegal aliens and migrants from taking advantage of our weak immigration laws. President Trump has shown that he is willing to consider legal status for illegal aliens in exchange for things like the border wall or an end to chain migration.

But your Democrat colleagues don't want to deal. They want full amnesty without giving anything up in return. It's shameful.

You need to kill this Aguilar amendment and strip it from the bill entirely. You need to understand that the days of slipping radical amendments into spending bills are over. We the People are watching your every move and will take action against anyone -- Republican or Democrat -- who participates in this treachery.

It shouldn't be hard to understand. You have a mandate to protect the country and its people, not the illegal aliens who have broken our laws.
