Spineless GOP Leaders Blocking Massive Concealed Carry Bill From Passing!

The GOP is refusing to let the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act reach the President's desk. Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to sign reciprocity into law, but Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell won't let it pass.

Instead of restoring the right to carry for 25% of Americans living in anti-gun states, they are actually negotiating with "moderate" Republicans to hold a vote on more gun control!

You must stop them!

If you do not put the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act onto President Trump's desk, you will be voted out of office.

This past weekend, there was an incredible story of heroism. During a local back-to-school event in Florida -- where children were getting free backpacks and school supplies -- a gunman decided to open fire. He started indiscriminately shooting at the attendees.

Luckily, there was a man there who had a concealed carry license. He drew his pistol and shot the gunman before anyone else could be hurt. There is no telling how many lives would have been lost if he wasn't there to protect the community. Concealed carry saved these people's lives.

Unfortunately, more than 26% of Americans live in states that refuse to issue concealed carry permits to the average citizen. These states have "may issue" carry laws, meaning that even if an applicant meets all of the statutory requirements, the police chief or judge still only "may" issue them a permit.

This is absolutely shameful. A quarter of all Americans are having their rights openly violated. But I will tell you, it is even more shameful that Congress hasn't done anything about it.

The 14th Amendment is clear: No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property."

Congress has a duty to put an end to these grossly unconstitutional carry bans and the Constitution gives you the authority to do it. That is why you must put the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act onto President Trump's desk immediately!

This bill would grant nationwide reciprocity to anyone with a lawfully issued concealed carry permit. Currently, it is impossible for any average citizen to carry in all fifty states. This bill would fix that. But it would also provide law-abiding Americans living in these carry ban states a chance to exercise their rights. The bill would allow for them to gain nationwide reciprocity using a non-resident permit issued by another state.
Gun reform must be a compromise. Earlier this year, you and your colleagues expanded on the background check system to make sure that criminals and the mentally ill don't fall through the cracks. Now that the background check system is shored up, it makes sense to protect the rights of people who pass those background checks.

If no one is going to fall through the cracks anymore, then there is no legitimate reason to block licensed gun owners from carrying their firearms across state lines.

The Fix NICS bill became law with the omnibus bill. Now it is time to finish the compromise and pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. The votes are there in the House. There are also ten vulnerable Senate Democrats up for re-election this year in states that Trump won. If they won't support the 2nd Amendment, then they will be replaced by someone who will.

This is the compromise. And yet, it is nowhere to be found. Your colleagues seem only interested in passing more gun control.

You need to do everything in your power to put the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act onto Trump's desk.

A right delayed is a right denied and if this legislation does not pass soon, we will have no choice but to clean house in Congress.
