Robert Mueller was given a very specific task: investigate "any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump." That is Mueller's mission.

Yesterday, Mueller dragged Trump advisor George Papadopoulos into court for sentencing. He allegedly "misled" and "lied to" FBI investigators.

Mueller's team asked Judge Randolph Moss -- an Obama appointee -- to send Papadopoulos away to prison for at least 60 days. After reviewing all of the evidence, Judge Moss concluded that there was zero evidence that Papadopoulos colluded with the Russians.

The Judge ignored Mueller's request and sentenced Papadopoulos to just 2 weeks in jail.

We are almost two years into this witch hunt. Mueller has convicted Paul Manafort on decades-old tax crimes and sent a low-level aid to jail for 14 days. The judge admitted that there was no evidence of collusion.

Even the charges that were brought against Russians admit that there is no evidence they collaborated with any Americans.

What are we doing here? Seriously, why are you letting this witch hunt continue?

The Obama administration's investigation into Trump was built on the Clinton-funded "dossier" and the investigation into Papadopoulos. We now know that the FISA application was fraudulent and the investigation into Papadopoulos found no evidence of collusion.

We do not need a special counsel to investigate mortgage crimes and prosecute low-level aides for process crimes. Mueller's goal was to uncover evidence of collusion. But at every turn, his team has been forced to admit that there was none.

Mueller should be winding things down. Instead, he is doubling-down against President Trump. He is still demanding that Trump sit for an interrogation, even though the firing of James Comey was completely justified by the Inspector General himself.

On top of that, Mueller is asking to hire even more investigators and prosecutors for his probe. He can't find any evidence of collusion, so his idea is to look even harder.

You need to rein him in. This has gone on for two years and wasted tens of millions of tax dollars. Right now, the best hope we have to shutting this witch hunt down is the DeSantis Amendment. This one-page bill would cut off all funding to Mueller and stop him from even using government funds to pay for office supplies.

I am demanding that you attach this amendment to the next spending bill that reaches the floor. You must cut off funding to the Mueller witch hunt and start prioritizing investigating the actual crimes committed by the Obamas and Clintons!
