There are now almost a thousand illegal migrants gathering at the border fence in Tijuana. Hundreds more are arriving every day and when the main caravan gets there, we will be facing down more than 10,000 illegal migrants trying to break into the country.

Yesterday, Border Patrol announced that it had awarded another border wall construction contract in Texas. This brings the 2019 total for new border wall construction up to 14 miles. That is all last year's budget and the current continuing resolution allow.

There are hundreds and hundreds of miles of wide open border and the Trump administration is only allowed to secure it 14 miles at a time. This is shameful.

We saw the caravan deliberately re-route away from Trump's border deployment. The caravan literally doubled its travel time in order to get to a part of the border that is less secure.

You have a chance, right now, to put an end to this cycle and secure the border once and for all. You have a chance to finally put the American people first and restore this country's sovereignty.

Except that isn't what is happening. Your colleagues are pushing for another 'continuing resolution' that would once again ban border wall construction and border security enhancements.
