Navy SEAL Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher is an American hero. A two-time Bronze Star recipient (for valor), Gallagher represents the best of us.

But since last fall, he has languished in the brig. His crime? Allegedly killing an ISIS fighter on the battlefield and allegedly posing for a picture next to the body.

I have to say 'allegedly' because a military judge just through out the photograph charges. The Pentagon had no evidence that Gallagher posed next to the dead body and the judge said even if they did, it wasn't a crime. You would think that getting the main evidence thrown out would end this grave miscarriage of justice. But prosecutors are still moving forward with the "murder" charges. Their new ace in the hole? "Anonymous sources."

This is disgusting. An American hero kills an ISIS fighter on the battlefield and he's being charged with murder.

Last month, 18 of your colleagues banded together to help free this man. Led by Dan Crenshaw and Duncan Hunter, they pressured the White House to intervene and put a stop to this.

President Donald Trump just personally intervened to get Gallagher moved from the brig to a low-security prison as he awaits trial. That might not seem like a big deal, but it was a Godsend to him and his family. When Edward Gallagher was in the brig, he wasn't allowed to hug or kiss visiting family members. His children were also forced to wear hospital gowns for the duration of the visit. Why? Guards were worried that sex offenders and pedophiles would get too excited.

Is this how we treat a hero?

President Trump was right to intervene. But you need to keep fighting for this man. The fact that he just spent months in the brig without even having his day in court is an abomination. And remember, this is all for allegedly killing an ISIS fighter (aka doing his job).

The evidence against this man is non-existent and Gallagher's treatment has been appalling. Edward Gallagher was literally the tip of the spear defending our freedom and our way of life. Why are you allowing this to happen to him?
