On Wednesday, the House Appropriations Committee's Homeland Security Subcommittee approved a plan to cut border security funding and prevent Pres. Trump from ever securing the border and enforcing our immigration laws. The bill blocks the defunds the border wall, cancels the President's national emergency, restores catch-and-release, and opens the door for millions of illegal aliens to rush the border.

And Democrats had Republican help. The GOP representatives on the subcommittee allowed the bill to pass by voice vote, meaning we have no way of knowing which Republicans voted for and against the border surrender bill.

I am demanding that you kill the dangerous Homeland Security appropriations bill just approved by the House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee.

In just the first five months of this year, Border Patrol agents have apprehended almost 440,000 illegal aliens. That is already higher than the total number of apprehensions last year. To put it in perspective, that is just a thousand less than the entire population of Miami, Florida.

We are facing this invasion because YOU refuse to fix the loopholes that illegal aliens are taking advantage of...

The 2020 Homeland Security Appropriations Act is a chance for you to fix these problems. You can close the abused asylum loopholes, approve new additional Border Patrol hires, fund the wall, and give Border Patrol and ICE the funding they need to keep us safe.

Democrats on this Subcommittee, however, have other plans. Their new bill not only outlaws new funding for border fences and walls, but it also blocks Border Patrol from hiring new agents and cuts the number of ICE detention beds by over 6,000. The bill freezes the funding being used in Pres. Trump's national emergency order, meaning that even if the Supreme Court rules Trump had the authority to reprogram funding to build the wall, he wouldn't be allowed to start construction.

Illegal border crossings have now surged to an 11-year high. Our agents are being literally overrun. And your colleagues in the Subcommittee have chosen to respond by cutting ICE and Border Patrol's detention funding...

Border Patrol has warned you that the cartels are trafficking children into the US to take advantage of the laws surrounding family units. Instead of closing this loophole, the bill doubles down by mandating that all illegal aliens who reach the border with a child in-tow be released into the country. Why are you going to help child traffickers?

If you allow this bill to pass, innocent Americans will die. If you tell Border Patrol and ICE that they have to release hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into the country, even if they suspect they are dangerous, Americans will pay the price.
