Lobbyists have descended on Washington DC to try to force you to overturn President Trump's Protect Life rule and restore Planned Parenthood's access to Federal funding. As if that wasn't bad enough, they also want you to increase the amount of Federal funds given to the world's largest abortion provider next year.

You CANNOT allow this to happen. It is against Federal law to fund or facilitate abortion procedures and for good reason: The American people do not want their hard earned tax dollars going towards funding this.

For years, Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics have gotten around this ban using accounting tricks. But President Trump's Protect Life order puts an end to that. Any clinic that accepts Title X family planning funds can no longer refer or perform abortion procedures. It closes the loophole that Planned Parenthood has used to collect billions of dollars over the years.

The organization just put out a press release saying that they have dipped into their emergency funds to keep their lights on and doors open. That tells us that the largest abortion provider on earth was only profitable because of this Federal funding. It's no longer theoretical: We know that Federal funds were facilitating abortion procedures... But not anymore.

And yet, a number of your colleagues want to undo Pres. Trump's order. They have drafted and approved an amendment to roll back the order and reinstate the Obama administration's Title X regulations. It reads,

"the Secretary shall carry out section 1001 of the PHS Act solely in accordance with any regulations or other conditions or instructions established by the Secretary pursuant to the authority under section 1006 of the PHS Act that applied as of January 18, 2017, to grants and contracts awarded under section 1001 of the PHS Act..."

Their amendment, found on Page 49-50 of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Act, would force Trump to readopt the regulations that were in place two days before his inauguration.

This is unprecedented. Never before has Congress tried to roll back the clock like this and undo a President's regulatory agenda. If this passes, it would be like Obama never left office.

You must kill this legislation. You cannot allow Planned Parenthood's funding to be restored. And above all else, you cannot let Congressional Democrats force Trump to re-adopt the Obama administration's regulations...

If you think that you can slip this amendment through without it being noticed, you are wrong. If you think that you can get away with dragging us back to the Obama years, you are sorely mistaken.

I am watching your every move and if you allow this provision to pass, I will not rest until you are removed from office.
