The 9th Circuit Court just issued its ruling on Trump's Remain in Mexico asylum policy. A three-judge panel just ruled that the administration can turn illegal aliens away in Texas and New Mexico, and force them to wait south of the border until their asylum cases are heard.

But the ruling prohibits Trump from enacting the policy at border checkpoints in California or Arizona. If illegal aliens show up there, then Border Patrol and ICE have to release them into the country with a notice to appear for a future court date. This is insane. Illegal aliens are already re-routing to California to take advantage of this ridiculous ruling. You have to put a stop to this.

We know that 90% of the illegal aliens who are released wth a notice to appear never bother showing up to their court hearings. They simply use our asylum system to force their way into the country and then disappear once they're released.

President Trump's Remain in Mexico program was working. Before this ruling, the administration was able to process almost 1,200 asylum claims. None of them were legitimate. They were all turned away. But under this radical 9th Circuit ruling, if these same asylum frauds show up to the border in California or Arizona, they would be set free.

The Secure and Protect Act of 2019 would put a stop to this once and for all. I am demanding that you send this bill to President Trump's desk immediately.

First, the legislation hires 500 new immigration judges to eliminate the asylum case backlog. Instead of taking 740+ days for a case to make it to a court room, these new hires would reduce it to around three months.

Second, the bill amends the Flores Settlement to make sure that criminals and asylum frauds are no longer able to use children to force their way into the United States. Under the Clinton-era policy, migrant children can only be detained for 20 days. After that, they have to be released. That is nowhere near enough time to adjudicate their cases. The Secure and Protect Act would increase this to 100 days. That would make sure that all asylum cases are heard before any migrants are released into the country. It would also end the practice of family separations at the border.

Third, the Secure and Protect Act amends our asylum laws to force asylum seekers to claim asylum in every safe country that they pass through before being eligible for the US asylum system.

Together, these three fixes would put a stop to the illegal aliens flooding our border with fraudulent asylum claims.

The system we have now is unsustainable. These loopholes are allowing more than 100,000 illegal aliens to force their way into our country every month. And thanks to this 9th Circuit ruling, illegal aliens know that if they show up to the border in California or Arizona, the government has to release them into the interior.

I am demanding that you put a stop to this right now! You must pass the Secure and Protect Act of 2019 right now!

You either care about protecting the country, or you don't. You either want to keep the American people safe, or you don't.
