We now know, for a fact, that partisans within the FBI, DOJ, and intelligence agencies weaponized the FISA process to allow them to spy on Donald Trump and his campaign. We know that these FISA applications were based on the flimsiest of evidence and that DOJ officials actually lied to the court to make sure their warrants would be extended.

The Founders were terrified of a government that could spy on its citizens at will. They ratified the 5th Amendment to ensure that Americans had a right to privacy and that the government would need a warrant to spy on them.

It is painfully clear now that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act is violative of these basic rights.

FISA comes up for renewal this month. Many of your colleagues are fighting to renew it largely as-is. They look at the well documented FISA abuses and see nothing wrong with them. They actually applauded the agents who broke the law and lied to the courts in order to perpetuate their fraudulent Trump-Russia investigation.

I cannot imagine anything more shameful than Members of Congress advocating trampling on our 5th Amendment rights, all to score political points...

You cannot pass the Schumer-Nadler bill as-is. And you cannot allow these Deep State apologists to hold the country's national security hostage in order to get their way.

Already, we are hearing your colleagues say that the Schumer-Nadler bill is take-it or leave-it. They are saying that if the GOP and Democrat skeptics do not vote to renew FISA as-is, they will let it lapse.

You cannot play their game.

When you were sworn in, you said an oath. That oath included a promise to defend the US Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. You know for a fact that the as-is FISA renewal bill that your colleagues are advancing violates the 5th Amendment.

That is why you must kill the Schiff-Nadler bill. Reps. Zoe Lofgren and Jim Jordan both have amendments designed to prevent the FISA Courts from ever again being weaponized for political purposes. They have amendments designed to create a new legal office to ensure that when the government comes before the court seeking a warrant to spy on an American, there is another lawyer present to argue on behalf of the people. And their proposal includes an amendment to strip the government's power to seize Americans' digital records from tech companies or force developers to include "back doors" in their software to allow the government to spy on Americans at-will.

Many of your colleagues call these amendments "poison pills." Think about that for a second... They consider common-sense amendments designed to uphold and protect the Bill of Rights to be deal breakers...

They are threatening to let the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act lapse if you don't agree to keep it as-is. All in an attempt to preserve the Deep State's power... You cannot allow this to happen!

I beg you to do the right thing. But if you dare go along with this plan to renew the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act as-is, or cave to Pelosi's demands, I will have no choice but to classify you as an oathbreaker.

All oathbreakers will be removed from office!
