Nancy Pelosi is convening Congress today to pass a massive coronavirus bill, but is openly promising to violate the Constitution in order to do it.

Article 1, Section 5 clearly states that in order for the House to do business, at least half of all elected Congressmen have to be present. Pelosi, however, plans to pass today's bill with as few as 20 Democrats, voting on behalf of 220 other Congressmen.

Article 1, Section 5 of the United States Constitution states that in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, "a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do business."

The Supreme Court ruled in United States v. Ballin that a quorum is "created by the mere presence of such majority."

In order for the House or Senate to do business, at least half of the duly-elected Congressmen or Senators have to be present and accounted for. Since there are 4 vacancies in the House, that means the magic number for a quorum is 216.

However, today Nancy Pelosi plans to sidestep the United States Constitution and pass legislation without a quorum present. Under a recently passed rule change, Congressmen will be allowed to proxy vote for up to ten of their colleagues. That means that 20 Democrats would have the voting power of 220, and be able to pass whatever bills they want.

Pelosi's scheme is flagrantly unconstitutional. Without a quorum, the House has no authority to do anything.

You were elected to serve the American people, your constituents. That means you have to show up to DC and do your job. Anyone who engages in this proxy voting scheme to allow another Congressman to represent their constituents will have violated their oath and must be removed from office.

You also cannot allow anything passed under this unconstitutional procedure to be signed into law. The ends do not justify the means. Trashing the Constitution is never acceptable. I don't care what it takes, you must kill any legislation brought to the floor or passed under these proxy-voting parameters.

And lastly, you must relieve Nancy Pelosi of her power. As Speaker of House, she has an obligation to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. By insisting that Congress ignore Article 1, Section 5 of the Constitution, she has violated her sacred oath. She has literally promised to violate the Constitution and to pass legislation without the presence of a quorum. Nancy Pelosi has proven that she is unfit to serve in any capacity. If you will not remove her, then I will have no choice but to consider you complicit in these crimes against the Constitution...

This is the oath you swore. You swore to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Nancy Pelosi has proven herself to be a domestic enemy to the Constitution and she must be removed.
