GOP Cowards Rush To Appease the Mob by Abolishing Columbus Day!

GOP Senators Ron Johnson (WI) and James Lankford (OK) have introduced a bill that would cave to the Far Left by eliminating Columbus Day and replacing it with a holiday that most of us had never even heard of called "Juneteenth."

The Radical Left has spent years trying to abolish Columbus Day. They still claim that this is "indigenous land" and that the United States never should have existed...

To cave to these people is the ultimate form of cowardice. But to follow that up by inventing a Federal holiday for Juneteenth -- a Texas holiday created in 1980 to celebrate the fact that the City of Galveston found out about the Emancipation Proclamation 1,001 days late -- is absurd.

And yet, these GOPers are trying to rush this through. These idiots believe they can appease the anti-America mob.

Yesterday, Senators James Lankford and Ron Johnson filed an amendment to abolish Columbus Day and replace it with "Juneteenth."

You must kill this amendment and stop it from passing.

The Far Left in this country has been demanding that Columbus Day be abolished for years. To them, Columbus never should have been allowed to step foot on the North American continent. If they had their way, all of this would still be "indigenous land." The movement to topple Columbus statues and eliminate the Columbus Day holiday is a rejection of America itself. But to replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth is stupid.

First of all, adding a federal holiday just two weeks after Memorial Day and two weeks before Independence Day would be incredibly disruptive. But beyond that, it just doesn't make sense... Juneteenth celebrates the fact that the city of Galveston, Texas found out about the Emancipation Proclamation on June 19, 1865 -- 1,001 days after Abraham Lincoln signed it.

This is not a holiday commemorating emancipation. It is a local holiday commemorating how the people of Galveston hadn't heard about it yet and were surprised to learn about the end of slavery months after the Civil War had ended.

It was only in 1980 that Texas made Juneteenth a state holiday. Before this year, few outside of Texas had ever even heard of the holiday. And yet, it is now being advanced as a holiday that commemorates -- in Sen. Johnson's words -- our "second Independence Day." Considering that this holiday did not even formally exist for the first 204 years of our country's existence, this is such a foolish assertion...

Frankly, I don't care what holidays people celebrate. If someone wants to observe Columbus Day or Juneteenth, I don't care. If someone wants to personally denounce these holidays, fine with me.

The problem I have is that this has nothing to do with the holidays themselves and is simply a thinly veiled attempt to appease the anti-American mob trying to tear this country apart.

You cannot appease these people. What started as a debate over Stonewall Jackson's statue three years ago has now transformed into a radical movement to tear down statues of Abraham Lincoln and even to destroy Mount Rushmore. We are on the slippery slope.

These people will not stop. If you give them an inch, they will take a mile.

I am demanding that you kill this Johnson-Lankford amendment, no matter what it takes.

If you cave to this angry mob and try to appease them like this, I will not rest until you are removed from office.
