GOPers Cave, Will Help Health Officials Force Their Way Into People's Homes

The GOP is caving to the Left's demand. In an attempt to avoid being blamed for people's unemployment payments getting cut off, Republicans are agreeing to pass a Democrat bill that would provide cities and states funding so they can send government officials into people's homes to enforce quarantine and testing orders.

The COVID-19 Testing, Reaching, And Contacting Everyone (Trace) Act would literally provide $100 billion this fiscal year (and unlimited funding starting October 1) to help city, county, and state officials to force their way into people's homes to enforce testing, contact tracing, and quarantine requirements.

And the idiot Republicans are so spineless, they have actually agreed to it...

This week, the Mayor of Los Angeles began shutting off the water and power to homes suspected of holding parties and social gatherings.

He tried to send police to these homes in recent weeks, but the officers were only able to issue noise warnings because there is no law against inviting other people into your home...

Mayor Garcetti doesn't care. He is now having city utilities employees cut off these homeowners from the electric grid and water mains. And to make it even more egregious, he is doing it during a heat wave...

Right now, you are being pressured to pass a bill that would actually reimburse Los Angeles for this tyranny. The COVID-19 Testing, Reaching, And Contacting Everyone (Trace) Act (H.R.6666) would provide cities, counties, and states with $100 billion through the end of this fiscal year, and a technically unlimited amount of money in the 2021 fiscal year, to "trace and monitor the contacts of infected individuals, and to support the quarantine of such contacts, through (1) mobile health units; and (2) as necessary, testing individuals and providing individuals with services related to testing and quarantine at their residences."

Why are you even considering sending local and state governments funding to help them force their way into innocent people's homes? How is that even on the table?

This bill is now being promoted as a "compromise" that will allow Congress to pass a "skinny" relief bill. How is funding this tyranny possibly a compromise?

In New York City, checkpoints have been set up to catch out-of-state visitors. If they are coming into the city from a coronavirus "hotspot," they are required to quarantine for 14 days. The city is sending officials to check in on visitors to verify they are quarantining, and to fine them if they are not. H.R.6666 would also allow New York to be reimbursed for this tyranny...

If this legislation passes, it will be abused. Since H.R.6666 is so vague, it will be used to fund door-to-door inspections and utilities shutoffs. This is insane.

The Founders were quite clear that absent a warrant and proof that someone committed a crime, the government should never be allowed to force its way into a citizen's home. This legislation pretends that there is an asterisk next to the 4th Amendment...

We've seen cities, counties, and states abuse their emergency powers and use the pandemic as an excuse to violate Americans' rights. If you give these tyrannical mayors, governors, and health officials $100 billion in unrestricted funding to use "as necessary," you will be throwing gasoline on the fire and guaranteeing that more Americans' rights would be violated.

There is no such thing as a "compromise" that includes helping government officials force their way into innocent people's homes. If you support this bill, or do anything to help it pass, you will pay.

I am warning you, there will be a reckoning. The elected and unelected government officials who abused their power during this pandemic will be held accountable. If you throw in your lot with them and help facilitate these civil rights abuses, you will be removed from office too.
