Every breath of freedom that we take was paid for with the blood, sweat, and tears of our military veterans. They fought to protect and preserve the Constitution for future generations to enjoy.

Yet, over 100,000 veterans so far have had their Second Amendment rights revoked under this President, many for the simple reason that they have a family member who takes care of their finances. Unelected bureaucrats are allowed to decide whether our veterans deserve their Constitutional rights.

This is unacceptable! The Second Amendment codifies a right endowed to us by our creator, not by our government. These men and women fought to protect your rights… the time has come to stand up and protect theirs!

Every now and then, I hear something that makes me weep for just how far this great country has fallen.

Under this President, over 143,000 military veterans have had their Second Amendment rights revoked. How did the government arrive at this delicate decision to suspend these heroes' rights? It left the responsibility to unelected bureaucrats who base their decision on whether or not the veteran handles his  or her own finances.

If you think this is incredibly stupid, you're right. Unelected bureaucrats in the Veterans Administration are allowed to deem veterans as "mentally defective" and "incompetent" because they need help managing their finances and disability benefits.

Since when does being able to handle finances determine whether an individual can own a firearm? Since when does an individual's mental health correlate with his or her money-handling abilities?

You should be ashamed for allowing this unlawful practice to continue. There are bills that have been introduced in both the House and the Senate that would stop this practice, and yet they have been allowed to collect dust for years.

And yet while they have fought for our freedoms, no one has stood up to fight for theirs! Are you going to be the one to stand up? Are you going to be the one to stop unelected bureaucrats from violating our veterans' rights?

As I mentioned, the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act spent years collecting dust on Harry Reid's desk. The legislation is simple: it would stop the VA from stripping Veterans of their Second Amendment rights simply because they need help managing their finances. Now that the GOP is in charge of Congress, you MUST pass this bill into law.
