In 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that the point of viability during pregnancy was somewhere between 24-28 weeks. However, the law has not caught up to modern science. At 20 weeks, it is proven that unborn feel pain in-utero. At 21 weeks, it has been proven that they can survive outside the womb and grow to adulthood.
The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act would bridge that gap. Any unborn child that reaches the point of viability would be given the opportunity to survive. This will save thousands and thousands of babies every year.
It's absolutely shameful that Congress caved earlier this year. But now, the GOP leadership has scheduled another vote for the bill this week. You have a chance to save tens of thousands of unborn children. You must raise your voice and demand that Congress pass the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act this time around!
