The GOP is promising to pass what has become known as "Obamatrade" without ever even reading the agreement.

They are about to give Obama even more power than he already has to put whatever he wants into the agreement. Gun control, global warming policies... you name it.

Senate rules allow for a final vote to be held as early as 5pm tonight! Then, the House of Representatives will get the legislation.

We must stop it here. The only way the TPP can leave the Senate chamber is in a garbage can!

We only need to sway 2-3 Senators! Please raise your voice right now and put a stop to this madness!

As early as tonight, the U.S. Senate will vote on whether to give Barack Obama 'fast-track' powers.

If successful, it would give the President (Obama and his unnamed successor) 6-years of "trade promotion authority." That would make Congress powerless to amend or edit the trade agreement. The only power Congress would have is to vote yes or no on the final language.

Here's the problem. You and your colleagues aren't going to scuttle years and years of trade negotiations over something little. Obama could ban the import of weapons from Asia or attach immigration reform measures to the bill and no matter how heinous they may be, Congress will approve the deal anyway.

This is the threat. Every time Obama has been given more power, he has abused it.

Additionally, you have no idea who the next President will be. However, by giving Obama 6 years of trade promotion authority, you are giving his unchosen successor the power as well.

How on earth can you vote in good conscience to give more power to a President who hasn't even been elected yet? Honestly, I want an answer to that question.

If you make the TPP language public and give the American people a chance to read it, you'd be surprised how many of us would support it. But by voting for this Fast-Track legislation without even reading it, you're obviously straddling the fence between appeasing your corporate donors and honoring your oath to the People.

I want to make myself completely clear. A vote in favor of this Fast-Track bill might as well be a vote against you in the next primary because if you surrender your treaty powers to this President, I will have no choice but to actively work against your reelection.
