Congress Moving to Punish Sanctuary Cities

Every day, Americans are victimized by illegal alien criminals. In the past week alone, more than half a dozen cases of illegal alien murderers, rapists, and hit-and-run drunk drivers have made headlines.

Our approach is simple: stop sanctuary cities from releasing illegal alien criminals into society and harshly punish deported illegal alien convicted criminals who are caught re-entering.

I respectfully ask that put a stop to these illegal aliens victimizing innocent Americans.

Actually, do you know what? I demand it. Kate Steinle's murder in broad daylight at the hands of an illegal alien is unacceptable.

It is UNACCEPTABLE that you and your colleagues sit by while San Francisco and other 'sanctuary cities' release these violent illegal aliens into our communities.

And it is UNACCEPTABLE that the Obama administration just slaps these repeat offenders on the wrist.

Sen. Tom Cotton has introduced a common sense bill to put a stop to these sanctuary cities. Since they obviously don't want to enforce the law, they have no need for federal law enforcement grant money. The bill would withhold this grant money from any town or city that refuses to hand violent illegal alien criminals over to immigration officials.

The second piece of legislation you need to pass is Kate's Law. The illegal alien who murdered this young woman had been convicted of SEVEN felonies and had been deported five times already. Yet, he continued re-entering the United States because he knew the Obama administration would let him.

Under Kate's Law, an illegal alien criminal caught re-entering the country after deportation would get a mandatory 5-year prison sentence. Repeat offenders get 10-years and if an illegal alien convicted criminal is caught re-entering the U.S. 3+ times, they get a mandatory 20-year prison sentence.

This is all such common sense. And that is why it is in danger of not passing. Common sense measures tend to get voted down in this Congress.

You MUST defund these sanctuary cities and pass Kate's Law to put the fear of God into illegal alien criminals contemplating coming here.
