Obama Doubles Down on Refugee Policy After Yesterday's Terror Attacks

Yesterday, a bomb was detonated along the route of a Marine charity foot race, a bomb exploded in New York City that injured 29 people, and ISIS claimed responsibility for a man who went on a stabbing rampage in a Minnesota mall.

We will know more as the day progresses, but the fact is these attacks are just the beginning if Obama is allowed to bring Middle Eastern refugees here without even vetting them.

We cannot afford to wait any longer. Congress has the power to put a refugee vetting bill on Obama's desk today. It is up to We the People to force them to.

The news from yesterday is unbelievable.

A pipe bomb was detonated along the route of a Marine charity foot race in New Jersey. Multiple other explosive devices failed to go off.

A bomb went off in New York City, injuring at least 29 people. Another pressure cooker IED was found just a few blocks away from the blast site.

And late last night, a man went on a rampage in a Minnesota mall after asking his victims whether they were Muslim or not. ISIS has claimed responsibility.

We will know more about the perpetrators as the day progresses. But the fact is that these are the types of threats we will face if Obama is allowed to bring more unvetted refugees into the country.

Last year, your colleagues in the House passed the American SAFE Act with a bipartisan, veto proof majority. Harry Reid has chosen to filibuster and block the bill in the Senate.

This legislation has just two added requirements:

(1) A full background check must be done on each refugee entering the US.

(2) The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and the Director of National Intelligence must unanimously agree that the refugee poses no threat to the United States.

There is nothing radical about that. This bill would simply force the administration to vet every single refugee and receive unanimous consensus from the intelligence community that the individual doesn't pose a threat to us.

I am DEMANDING that you push this legislation through reconciliation. Send the bill to Obama's desk. Force him to decide between protecting Americans and playing politics.

Inaction is unacceptable. You have the ability to get this bill passed. Anything left, and I will have to assume you simply don't want to keep us safe...
