Uh Oh: DOJ Announces New Anti-Gun Regulation

Earlier this year, Barack Obama convened a gun control summit. One of the executive orders that he signed after the Summit was related to forcing temperamental "smart gun" technology onto the American people.

This week, the DOJ announced its final regulation. They are forcing smart gun technology onto law enforcement agencies and, as a result, millions of American gun owners.

Americans shouldn’t have to worry about dying batteries, sweaty palms, software failure, or electronic sabotage when their lives are on the line. You CANNOT allow this regulation to be implemented!

Smart gun technology is deadly. Guns are already prone to jamming and failure. Anyone who has ever experienced a computer crash knows that eventually software fails and it fails when you need it most.

Last week, the DOJ announced it was implementing Obama's "smart gun" executive order and forcing the technology onto American law enforcement.

This will force the technology onto the market and because of a decades-old law, and entire state of gun owners will be forced to adopt this technology. New Jersey has a law that mandates smart gun technology be implemented into every gun sold. The only thing that has been stopping this, and other states from following suit, is the fact that the technology is off the market.

If Obama's executive order is allowed to move forward, this technology will be forced onto the market and people will die. You must stop it!

First of all, this technology makes firearm ownership cost prohibitive for a vast majority of Americans. Making it 500% more expensive to exercise our Second Amendment rights is so clearly unconstitutional that it is amazing that this bill will actually be introduced into the US Senate.

Second of all, this technology is chronically prone to failure and cannot be trusted to function when lives are on the line. This is the same reason that the military and police are so staunchly against this technology. Their life depends on their firearm going BANG every time and this executive order will make that less likely.

The third reason that this executive order cannot be allowed to go into effect is that not only is the technology prone to failure, but it is prone to sabotage! Electronics can easily be disabled and radio frequencies can be jammed. The biggest fear is that law-abiding citizens could have their guns disabled, either by criminals or government agencies. When anti-government protests erupt, the first thing that gets turned off is cell phone service. This isn't unrealistic. If this "smart gun" executive order goes into effect and entire states are forced to adopt the technology, there would be nothing stopping government agencies or even criminals from disabling law-abiding citizens' firearms.

This technology is dangerous. If the American people want firearms with fickle technology, the market for it will develop naturally. The fact that smart guns remain off the market proves what the public thinks of them.

For years, Liberals have tried to pass Senator Markey's Handgun Trigger Safety Act and mandate this technology nationwide. Obama's executive order will take us closer to that gun control vision.

You MUST stop the DOJ from implementing this new regulation!
