In a few hours, your colleagues will introduce a Continuing Resolution to fund the remainder of the Obama Presidency.

The GOP leadership wants to fund the administration at its current levels. If you do this, then Obama will have the resources to bring tens of thousands of additional refugees into the country before he leaves office.

The White House has also agreed to take in thousands of Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian refugees that Australia vetted and then turned away.

It doesn't get more idiotic than this. If one of our allies determines that a refugee would pose a threat to their society, we shouldn't be bringing that refugee here instead...

Late last year, the American SAFE Act passed the House with a bipartisan, veto-proof majority. This legislation would withhold funds from the refugee program unless background checks are performed in triplicate and the intelligence establishment certifies the refugee poses no threat to our country.

The only reason it failed in the Senate is because of Harry Reid's filibuster.

With the Continuing Resolution vote this week, this provides you the opportunity to use the reconciliation process to bypass the filibuster entirely and put this legislation onto Obama's desk. Then he gets to decide whether bringing in radicalized refugees is worth defunding the government over...
