Yet, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell still refuse to budge. They are not allowing the legislation to come to the floor, even though they know the votes are there. Tens of millions of Americans continue to have their rights trampled on because of these cowards.

But if we can get just a few more co-sponsors to sign on, we can bypass their blockade entirely and force them to hold a vote!

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act is common sense. If a law-abiding American is legally allowed to carry a firearm for self-defense in one state, they would be allowed to do so in every state.

These men and women would still have to obey local self-defense laws, however states would no longer be allowed to arbitrarily block Americans - residents or non-residents - from exercising their right to bear arms.

On top of that, the legislation would dismantle the handful of states that still block their residents from defending themselves in public. Currently, 1 in every 4 Americans live in a state that does not honor their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would allow these law-abiding Americans to turn to other states and use a non-resident permit from Utah or Florida to carry nationwide.

Right now, there are 213 sponsors and co-sponsors in the house. Add in Steve Scalise, who authored this legislation before, and that puts support at 214. As we saw this past week, it is possible for legislation to pass with just 216 votes, as did the budget.

That means we are just two votes away from passage.

I am urging you to jump on board and work around the clock to get your colleagues to support this bill as well. For far too long, Americans have been victimized because of the country's patchwork concealed carry laws.

You need to do everything in your power to force a vote on this. We literally have a once in a lifetime opportunity to restore the right to carry to all law-abiding Americans.

The Courts aren't going to rule on this anytime soon. The DC City Council decided not to appeal their case to the Supreme Court because they didn't want to risk a nationwide pro-gun ruling. So, we are years away from any case reaching the Supreme Court and even then, there are no guarantees.

You must act. Pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act and restore the right to carry to all law-abiding Americans in all states!
