This week, the Trump administration arrested 214 members of the violent illegal alien street gang MS-13. Nearly one third of those arrested were brought into the country as children. Some of your colleagues are threatening a government shutdown if Trump's immigration enforcement is not ended. Their bill would make Obama's amnesty executive orders permanent, block Trump from deporting illegal aliens, and defund his border wall proposal.

In the words of Barack Obama, "elections have consequences." Donald Trump ran on a message of securing the border and enforcing our immigration laws as written and he won a historic upset victory. The American people did not vote for this "compromise" legislation package. They did not vote to continue Barack Obama's legacy.

I am writing to you to warn you to tread extremely lightly. I would hate for you to misinterpret the desires of the electorate. To do so would be committing political suicide.

The American people voted for immigration enforcement. We the People voted for more enforcement, not less.

The American people voted for an end to Barack Obama's illegal and unconstitutional amnesty executive orders. The President should not have the authority to rewrite American immigration law and allow people to just walk into our country.

The American people voted to defund sanctuary cities and implement mandatory minimum sentences for illegal alien criminals caught re-entering the country. And yes, We the People voted for a border wall.

That is the immigration mandate you have from the people. I am reaching out to you as a courtesy in the hopes of preventing you from going down the same path as some of your colleagues. I want to continue to support you.

But if you turn your back on the American people and vote to cement the very amnesty we voted against, I will have no choice but to devote all of my time to defeating you the next time you're on the ballot...
