It looks like you and your colleagues will not be able to pass a full, yearly budget in time for Friday's deadline. If a government shutdown is averted, it will be done with a short-term continuing resolution. Based on the calendar and the CRs already introduced, the next fiscal cliff will likely be on January 19th.

That day is important because it also marks the 47th anniversary of the Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision and the annual March for Life rally in Washington DC.

I am writing to demand that you put your political capital into defunding Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. Every year, Planned Parenthood alone receives more than half a billion dollars from the Federal government. They swear that this isn't used to fund their abortion programs, but we all know that this isn't true. The money they get is fungible and allows them to move their other funding around.

You will have an opportunity on the same day as the March for Life to pull the plug on the abortion industry.

If Planned Parenthood and other clinics want to continue to perform abortions, then they need to figure out a way to do that without Federal funding.

Back in 2015, Congress passed a measure to defund Planned Parenthood and actually sent it to President Obama's desk (which he vetoed). Now that we have a President who actually wants to sign it, the legislation is nowhere to be found...

This is pathetic.

A few years ago, Congress was poised to pass a major bill to end late-term abortions. With the entire March for Life gathered at the Capitol Building, one GOP Congresswoman -- Rep Renee Ellmers -- refused to let the measure move forward. The next time her name appeared on the primary ballot, she was defeated by 30 percent.

That is your future if you turn your back on the pro-life movement.
