Los Angeles' application for $3 million in new law enforcement grants was denied because of the city's commitment to harboring illegal alien criminals.

A federal judge had previously blocked Trump from pulling sanctuary cities' funding, so the DOJ found a workaround and has simply decided to reject applications for new funding.

Make no mistake. Los Angeles and the State of California are already bringing this to court. By next week, they will have found an activist judge willing to block Trump's policy.

You need to intervene before it is too late. The President is doing everything he can, but only YOU and your colleagues can write into the law that Federal law enforcement funding requires state and local cooperation with all Federal law enforcement actions.

It really isn't that hard to wrap your head around. Imagine sending a city millions of dollars to help prepare local police to respond to terrorism, only to have Politicians and Police Captains order their officers to stand down during a terrorist attack. That is what is happening with immigration enforcement.

These sanctuary cities are more than happy to cash the Federal government's checks, but when it comes time to actually help enforce immigration law, they actively are helping harbor these criminals.

Enough is enough.

The legislation to defund sanctuary cities has stalled in Congress. I am demanding that you push it forward!

There is a reason that President Trump's job approval is consistently 25 to 35 points higher than the Congressional approval rating. He is doing everything he can to fulfill his campaign promises and you and your colleagues appear to be running out the clock.

This isn't a hard thing to get behind. When a city or state arrests a criminal who also happens to be an illegal alien, they need to hand him or her over to ICE agents. We're not talking about going door to door to root out illegal aliens. We are talking about requiring cities to hand over illegal alien criminals when they are caught committing local and state crimes.

Far too many American citizens and legal immigrants have been victimized because of these idiotic sanctuary policies. That must end.

Pass legislation to give President Trump the power to defund sanctuary cities, or I will have no choice but to replace you with someone who will...
