The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act is the biggest pro-2nd Amendment bill ever to be introduced into Congress. What this legislation does is actually pretty remarkable. It restores the 2nd Amendment's promise of a right to bear arms to all law-abiding Americans in all fifty states.

It would grant nationwide reciprocity to anyone who possesses a lawful license or permit to carry a concealed firearm. Every carry permit would be honored in every state. Liberal states would no longer to be allowed to infringe on their residents' and guests' constitutional rights.

We are talking about restoring the right to bear arms to a quarter of all Americans. For far too long, liberal states have been allowed to infringe on Americans' constitutional rights without repercussions. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act puts an end to that.

I understand why some of your colleagues are terrified of this bill. Some of them have actually built their political career by infringing on their state's residents' right to bear arms. They have spent decades making sure that their constituents are powerless to defend themselves in public.

But now, it is time to end this chapter of 2nd Amendment violations.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the right to bear arms is a literal, individual right to carry guns for self defense. That doesn't mean law abiding Americans can only carry on their property or up to their state line. It applies nationwide. This bill ensures that the 2nd Amendment is honored the way the founders intended.

The legislation has passed the House, but currently is collecting dust in the Senate. Yesterday, Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith became the 41st co-sponsor in the Senate. The bill is gaining momentum once again.

I am writing to make sure you understand that this isn't good enough. This cannot become one of the bills that makes it half way through the legislative process only to die. It cannot become a bill that collects co-sponsors only to never get a vote

I don't care what it takes. Put this on President Trump's desk for signature.

There are no more excuses. We know the votes are there. You MUST put this onto the President's desk by any means necessary.
