Back in April, the GOP leadership promised that Congress would vote on the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act before the midterm elections.

The purpose was to force vulnerable Democrats up for re-election in pro-Trump states to go on the record. Either they vote against the 2nd Amendment or they restore carry rights to all law-abiding Americans.

The GOP swore they would hold a vote. Now, they're going back on their word.

Mitch McConnell and the GOP leadership have sat on this bill for 82 weeks. Now, they think they can stall for another five...

If you let this happen, you will not be re-elected.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act is simple: anyone with a lawfully issued carry permit from one state would be granted reciprocity in all 50 states. Currently, 11 states refuse to honor any out-of-state permit. It is currently impossible for the average American to exercise his or her 2nd Amendment right in every state.

It would also include reciprocity for non-resident permits. Right now, 25% of all Americans live in states that refuse to issue permits to their residents. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would tear down more than a century of state-level carry bans and finally give tens of millions of Americans pathway to exercise their right to bear arms.

Why won't you stand for the 2nd Amendment? Why are you letting the Congressional leadership stall like this?

If you do not put the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act onto President Trump's desk before the midterm elections, you will be voted out of office. That is a promise.
Gun reform must be a compromise. Earlier this year, you and your colleagues expanded on the background check system to make sure that criminals and the mentally ill don't fall through the cracks. You passed this provision through the last omnibus spending package.

Now that the background check system is shored up, it makes sense to protect the rights of people who pass those background checks.

I am demanding that you complete the compromise. Put the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act onto Trump's desk, by any means necessary. The Framers gave you the power of the purse for a reason. If you support the 2nd Amendment, you will use it.

If you allow the leadership to continue blocking this common sense pro-gun bill, then I will have no choice but to assume you are an enemy of the 2nd Amendment... and I will vote accordingly.
