Breaking: Congressional Dems Still Sneaking Their Pay Raise Through!

It is working! Republicans and Democrats are pushing back against the GOP and Democrat leadership's plan to give Congress a pay raise.

YOUR pressure has forced Pelosi to delay the vote on the legislation to next week. Instead of happening yesterday, the vote has been moved to next week... The establishment is hoping that this will be enough time for the story to blow over so they can give themselves a pay raise anyway.

But we have a way to stop this. Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Anthony Brindisi (D-NY) have introduced the No Raise for Congress Act. This bill would repeal the provision in the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 and put an end to automatic pay raises for Congress.

If Congress wants, they should have to prove to the American people that they've earned it!

As I said, Pelosi and McConnell are stalling, hoping that the public will move onto focusing on another issue so they can push the raise through without you knowing. Now is our one shot to get this bill passed!

The American people elected you to serve on our behalf. The key word here being "serve." You were sent to Washington to pass legislation in order to make your constituents' lives better. There are a lot of problems facing this country that should be easy to fix.

Except, Congress doesn't seem to want to fix them... This year, Congress has only put 23 bills onto President Trump's desk. That is disgusting. That number should be well over a hundred.

You aren't doing your job. So why do some of your colleagues think that Congress deserves yearly pay raises?

The Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 dictates that Congress should automatically receive a yearly pay raise. That provision was frozen in 2009 (when Congress was making 3x the average American's salary). If that freeze wasn't implemented, the Congressional salary would have grown to FOUR times the average American's salary.

This is obscene.

I have no problem with Congress being paid for the work it does. I have no problem with Congress receiving receiving cost-of-living increases.

But you need to earn it.

I am demanding that you sign on as a co-sponsor and pass the bipartisan No Raise for Congress Act, which has been introduced by Reps. Fitzpatrick and Brindisi. This legislation would remove the automatic pay raise provisions found in the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946.

When you want a raise, you need make your case to the American people. You need to go on the record and vote on it. And if the American people don't believe you have earned it, then you need to face the electoral consequences.

You cannot continue to hide behind a 1946 law to give yourself automatic pay raises.

This issue is not going to go away. You are not going to be able to stall and wait for the news cycle to shift. The age of automatic pay raises is coming to an end.

If you won't get on board, then I will have no choice but to elect someone else who will...
