The GOP should be holding the line. But instead, these Republican traitors are trying to negotiate. Instead of banning all semi-automatic weapons, these cowards want to help the Democrats ban some of them. And instead of mandatory confiscation, they want to make the buy-back program voluntary. This is what passes for a Conservatism in Congress today...

They wanted to force this through tomorrow, but the Hurricane threw a wrench in their plans. That means there is still time to stop this!

When you first arrived in Washington, you were given the oath of office. You swore to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

The bill would ban tens, if not hundreds, of millions of the most commonly-owned semi-automatic handguns, rifles, and shotguns in this country. Don't buy into the talking points. There isn't a country on earth that fields a semi-automatic rifle as a standard-issue service weapon. These are not weapons of war. These are the firearms that Americans use every day for self-defense, target shooting, and hunting.

The original 1994 ban covered two-dozen firearms by name. This new bill would ban over 204 models of firearms, simply because of the letters and numbers that are stamped or etched into the metal. And the bill's definition of "copy-cat" weapons would ban any semi-automatic rifles or shotguns that have a "grip, or any other characteristic that can function as a grip." The radical Left's new definition of an "assault weapon" is any firearm you can hold in your hand...

But your colleagues aren't stopping there. Rep. Eric Swalwell is forcing a vote on an amendment to create a mandatory nationwide "buy-back" program. Any gun owners that refused to surrender their firearms would face prison time.

Let me make something else abundantly clear: our rights do not come from government. We are endowed by our creator with the right to life, liberty, and property. The 2nd Amendment exists to prevent government from stopping us from defending these rights. The government cannot "buy back" a God-given right.

I am demanding that you kill this bill. I am demanding that you honor your oath and use every ounce of political capital at your disposal to stop these radical gun bans from reaching the floor.

History will not look kindly on the men and women who tried to abolish our God-given right to keep and bear arms. And neither will your constituents...
